A PERFECTLY DESIGNED GLOVE.
Antibiotic resistant MRSA infections cost about $10 billion dollars per year to treat and averaging around $60,000 a patient. The U.S. government and hospitals are trying to come up with solutions to treat this epidemic; single patient rooms, new & updated filtration systems, and even fining hospitals for high incidences of infection.
And while it will take a multi-pronged approach, we still have a serious problem. The transfer of MRSA, C. Deficile, and other serious and life threatening bacteria is rampant among patient to doctor contact. In fact, recent studies prove that stethoscopes are the main carrier and transfer agent of these serious bacteria. A recent study published by the Mayo Clinic states,
“These results suggest that the contamination level of the stethoscope is substantial after a single physical examination and comparable to the contamination of parts of the physician’s dominant hand.”
Pocket Glove® was invented by Dr. Kamron Mirkarimim to directly combat and solve these issues and help save over 11,000 lives unnecessarily lost to hospital born infections. Our glove is designed to protect the stethoscope inside a sterile pouch on the glove, thus eliminating or dramatically reducing the transfer of MRSA and C.Deficile to other patients.
